2015 Tree-planting Wrap-up!

Tronox Corporate Planting Day – 27th June.

The wetland on the Landcare Centre property was fenced off earlier in the year in preparation for the planting undertaken by the 100 plus staff and families of Tronox. The 2000 seedlings were also guarded in an effort to at least slow the kangaroo predation down.

St Mary’s Planting Day – 30th June.

Our largest group yet of St Mary students planted a record 22,000 seedlings into Stage 6 of the Bulls Brook Biodiversity Corridor. What an enthusiastic bunch of girls!

River Rangers – 1st and 2nd of July.

Over 8000 seedlings were planted over two days at the Bullsbrook Bridle Trail. Roughly 100 students who participate in the Swan River Trust River Rangers program from five schools came out each day. They were treated with a sausage sizzle and juice box. Thank you to Linley from the Swan River Trust who coordinates these planting days.

Flyboys Planting Day – 17th July.

The Singaporean Trainee Air Pilots have been coming and planting with the Landcare Group for many years. This year they managed to plant around 5000 seedlings at the Bulls Brook Biodiversity Corridor.

Chittering Scouts – 16th July.

It was a freezing morning for the scouts, but they managed to plant 2000 seedlings on a private property in Bullsbrook. Well done!

Guildford Grammar planting – 14th August.

The Guildford Grammar boys planted the last of the seedlings in our nursery, with 2000 rushes and sedges planted at Bulls Brook Biodiversity Corridor.
