Black Cockatoo Evening
18 Aug 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
$5We would like to invite you to attend our “Black Cockatoo Information Evening” to be held on Tuesday the 18th of August, at the Chittering Landcare Centre.
Carnaby’s Black Cockatoo is federally listed as an endangered species with their numbers continuing to decline. August is the beginning of the breeding season when surveys of nesting areas are carried out. Although Carnaby’s generally migrate further inland to the wheatbelt to breed, there are pairs which are known to breed in the Chittering and Gingin areas and there have been reports of birds looking at potential nesting hollows in the Chittering area recently. Volunteers to assist with nesting surveys are welcome.
Come along to our Carnaby’s Black Cockatoo Evening to find out more about these wonderful birds and how you can contribute to vital research to slow the decline in their numbers.
