Rabbit Control

Chittering Landcare are currently coordinating the release of Calicivirus RHDV1-K5 within the Shire of Chittering and surrounding areas.

As landholders are legally required to control rabbits on their own land – see  https://www.agric.wa.gov.au/pest-mammals/european-rabbit?page=0%2C3  – the more people on board for this latest release, the better the chance of reducing numbers whilst food supplies are low hence breeding less active.

Owners of pet rabbits in the area need to make sure their pets are currently vaccinated.  Contact your local vet for more information.

Please contact Chittering Landcare to find out how you can become actively involved with your neighbours to control the rabbits.

For costs and project details, phone 9571 0400 or email chitteringlandcare@iinet.net.au
